Negotiated Spaces
• Project Type: Artist Residency
• Completion Year: 2024
• Location: El Alamein, Egypt
• Duration: July 2023 – September 2023
Negotiated Spaces is a visual experiment on individuals and urban space, developed through 60 days of field research in Egypt. Using typological photography, the project examines how public and private spheres, urban structures, and economic systems reshape individual actions and social relationships.
Photography functions not only as an observational tool but as an interventional practice, exposing how individuals negotiate their position within urban order and how history is continuously reenacted in daily life.
Engaging with contemporary urban studies, performance art, and visual archives, this project explores the ongoing renegotiation of identity, space, and society.
